Josh and Paige ended up with the perfect end of summer; beginning of fall day at the barn wedding venue in Clear Lake-Diamond Oak Events. If you haven’t had the chance to visit-literally the perfect venue in small town Iowa. Lots of trees, green space, hanging lights in the trees for after dark dancing and the barn is stunning! And the owners are seriously the sweetest; most attentive venue owners I have EVER met!!

I have known Paige since before her senior year in high school. We bonded over her senior picture session and later family pictures. While getting to know Paige and her family-they walked through one of the toughest times in their lives. For all of those who got to meet Paige’s dad-you couldn’t forget him. His laugh and smile were contagious and literally lit up the room. i remember meeting him walking into the house to show Paige and her family her pictures for the first time and he immediately made me feel like family. Chris lost his battle with cancer not long after that next family session that we did. My heart broke for Paige, her mom and siblings as I couldn’t imagine what they were experiencing and feeling.

I knew when Paige asked me to photograph her upcoming wedding to Josh that it would be a wedding to remember. I also knew that it would be one that would probably be the hardest of my career to get through. Josh and Paige’s day was absolutely beautiful and perfect from beginning to end. The little touches throughout the day were perfect to showcase her love for her Dad and in remembrance of him. That first look with her little brother–my heart!
